“You’ll Love it Here!” was the theme for the evening and was it ever true! What a night it was. It started with a drive out to Gary Trimarco Automotive where you had lots of parking, wind and a chance of rain and then were greeted by Artworks Board members and staff with a lovely glass of champagne.
The joy of voices greeting each other started immediately as friends gathered to catch up on life and find out what Artworks treasures awaited them. From bikes to cupcakes to experiences there was definitely something for everyone looking to support the arts and humanities. Phil Currie and Bill Scheible made sure that you got that very last bid in as well.
The gala is the place where we honor our Distinguished Patron of the Arts. The secret of the night was unveiled by board members, Roxanne Cullen and Trinidy Williams when Jerena Keys, the backbone and behind the scenes volunteer for so many organizations, humbly accepted the honor.
“How much did we make?” is always the question for the weeks following. We netted just over $30,000 with over $3,000 going to the “Hot, Hot, Hot” furnace fund. It will cost just $10,000 to replace two of our seven furnaces that have served us well over the years. Stratz Heating will be doing the work for us.
