Artworks welcomes two interns for spring semester
Gaige Tucker and Jake Bradley have joined Artworks as interns from Ferris State University. Tucker is a senior from Milan, MI, majoring in business administration. When asked what he hopes to gain from this internship, Tucker said, “I want to learn how to run a business and how a nonprofit can be successful. Artworks has so many opportunities from pottery and dance classes to concerts from groups in the community and the Painted Turtle Gift Shop. These things help paint a picture for me about having a good business model, but, even more than that, bringing services to those that make up this community, which is what it is all about.”
Bradley is a senior from upstate New York majoring integrative studies with a minor in art history. Bradley said working at Artworks fits nicely with his interest in art and his desire to learn more about running a non-profit organization. “Artworks has a huge impact on the Big Rapids community,” Tucker said. “I want to see how this impact happens.”
Artworks Executive Director Lynne Scheible said she is excited both gentlemen are on the Artworks team. “Gaige and Jake are both great additions to our team at Artworks,” Scheible said. “We put them both to work as soon as they walked in the door. Their enthusiasm and work ethic have been great to see.”
