Town Crazy makes intimate the seemingly ordinary, giving face to the pay-no-minds: a brotherhood of "have-nots" pitching in to hold one man's line in an unnamed fishing village; an eccentric antique dealer selling wares off a dirt road highway exit; a disturbed man playing bird above the public square; a bible-reading bait shop cashier bestowing her best wishes; the little pockets of Michigan that poet John Cullen has refused to ignore. I love this collection of meticulous meditations that are, simultaneously, startling and wise. - Rebecca Clever
