Alan has taught writing and literature at the University of Cincinnati and at Owens Community College in Toledo. James Bertolino played a critical role in Alan’s development as a writer.  His poems have spoken to many and keep his audience coming back for every new book.  He and his wife enjoy spending most of the year in a cabin near Bitely, MI in the heart of the Manistee National Forest.
