medium: Acrylic and Oil
I am a retired educator who began painting while wintering in Key West. While volunteering at a nonprofit studio there, I developed an interest and began taking classes. It soon became a passion and I now paint almost everyday. Originally, acrylic was my medium of choice. Today, I frequently use acrylic for the under painting but finish pretty much exclusively with oil. My wife and I continue to winter in Key West and I take full advantage of many painting classes offered by painters from throughout the US. I also enjoy participating in several Plein Air events. Most of my paintings come from photographs taken by my wife and I on trips around the state of Michigan or trips to Europe. Often friends will also share photos with me from their travels. My favorite subjects are scenes from Michigan and the Great Lakes.
